2010 Florida State IDPA Championship

Wyoming Antelope Club; North Pinellas Park, Florida; By Tom Schewe 2/28/2010 The last day of this year’s FL St IDPA Championship was a perfect day. Any of the contestants who found themselves shooting on the last day shot in what was by far the best conditions of the competition. The first 2 days of the 3 day competition shooters had the added challenge of rain, overcast skies and/or unseasonably cold temperatures. The Stages for the event where well thought out, challenging, smooth operating, & very shootable.

The Match was well run with the exception of underestimating the popularity of the BBQ lunch on Sunday and that “mis-step” rectified in an expedient manner once the problem became evident. Match Director Larry Gilbert reported that the 251 competitors in attendance was up 20% and set a record for the Match. Because of the statewide co-operation of the clubs Florida shooters are have develop a reputation for setting Good Stages and having a fun place to shoot when the weather in the rest of the country keeps most folks indoors..
